Required Friday Night Viewing

A hearty than you to the folks at Turner Classic Movies because this friday they are playing a vast selection of short iflm by famous directors. The full line-up is here, but highlights include La Jetee from Chris Marker; Scorsese's rarely screened It's Not Just You, Murray, along with The Big Shave and What's A Nice Girl Like You Doing in a Place Like This; Stanley Kubrick's Day of the Fight; and Roman Polanski's Two Men and a Wardrobe. This should be fun.

St. Elsewhere On DVD - Finally!

Just announced, street date of December 12, the first season of St. Elsewhere, the best television drama of the 1980s. Seriously, this is one of those shows that has forever shaped my opinions and feelings about what television can do at its very best. I could not be more thrilled.

If you are already familiar with the show, particularly the final episode, please check out this incredible site. If you are not, do not go there as it will ruin the end of the series.
